HOW IT HAPPENED
Set one was highly competitive, with the score changing possession multiple times throughout. The Bulldogs led when it counted, leading the entirety of the last seven points, despite the Comets' attempt to even the score. Grace Welch posted two kills, Katelyn Bergman one, while the aggressors had several ball handling errors as AC took the set.
Olivet took set two, after an impressive eight-point run in the early-goings, to open a lead it would not relinquish to eventually force a fourth set. Adrian had a multiple point run of its own (five points) to bring the game within two (16-14), forcing a Comets' timeout. In the run AC was strong on the net, blocking for two points, with block assists by Madison Federmeyer and Welch and a bock solo by Korbyn Koerner. Liz Susitko served for one ace.
The third set went in favor of the Bulldogs (25-17), despite the Comets taking an early lead. AC regained control as they scoreboard read 10-9, as it slowly worked its way out front. Alex Tobler collected set point on a kill, assisted by Susitko.
Set four was the easiest for Adrian, as it took it 25-17 to claim the final match point. Despite the score being knotted several times in the early-goings, the Bulldogs owned a six-point lead for most of the remainder of the set. Koerner ended the set with a kill, again assisted by Susitko.
