Bulldogs Cruise to 7-0 Victory

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College women's hockey team scored three goals in both the second and the third period on the way to a 7-0 win over Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) opponent Concordia University Wisconsin. Sarah Shureb (2,0) Hannah Dalrymple (1,1) Brooke Lupi (1,1), Kelly O'Sullivan (1,1) and Bailey Robertson (0,2) led the Bulldogs in scoring.

Records: Adrian (11-2, 9-0 NCHA), CUW (3-6, 2-4 NCHA)

HOW IT HAPPENED

First Period: Adrian 1, CUW 0

• The Bulldogs outshot the Falcons, 13-3 in the opening period.

Shureb scored Adrian's first goal of the game with 6:58 left to on the clock. She was assisted by Brooke Lupi and  Rylee Bates. It was the first assist of her college career for Bates.

Second Period: Adrian 4, CUW 0

• The Bulldogs scored three times in the second period. The first came from Maggie Mitter in the 7th minute of the second. Dalrymple and  Lexi Tzafaroglou assisted on the goal.

Shureb followed with her second goal of the night, assisted by Kristi Zink.

• O'Sullivan finished the scoring in the second period in the final minute. Kristin Lewicki and Kaylyn Schroka were on the assists.

• Adrian won the shot battle again, 17-4, in the second.

Third Period: Adrian 7, CUW 0

Dalrymple (Robertson, O'Sullivan) made the score 5-0 in favor of the Bulldogs with 6:24 left to play. 

Olivia Ziemba returned to the ice for the first time this season and was able to put the puck in the net off a rebounded shot from Robertson, Kortney Diaz also tallied an assist on the play.

Brooke Lupi put the final nail in the coffin with a score just 16 seconds later. Anna Shepherd was on the assist.

TOP DOGS

• Five Adrian players had two points in the game: Dalrymple, Shureb, O'Sullivan, Robertson, and Lupi.

Brooke Gibson (W, 8-1-0) saved all nine shots that she faced for her third shut-out this season.

UP NEXT

• The Bulldogs will face off against CUW again tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.
