The Adrian College women's hockey team completed the two game sweep of Lake Forest by defeating the Foresters 3-1 on Sunday afternoon. Adrian earned the victory by scoring one goal in each period.
Jessica Grubbs gave Adrian an early 1-0 advantage by scoring a goal midway through the first period. Stacey Kempson and Brooke Zaleski each picked up an assist on the goal. The Foresters were able to tie the game with just over a minute left to play on the game clock.
Each team had four power play opportunities throughout the game. Lake Forest ended the game 0-4, while the Bulldogs connected on one of their four tries. Grubbs scored the power play goal in the second period to give Adrian the 2-1 lead. Grubbs now as 16 goals through 19 games this season. Kempson earned her second assist of the game on the goal, and Andrea Soloko also recorded an assist.
Olivia Rork sealed the victory for the Bulldogs. Rork scored her fifth goal of the season at the 16:22 mark in the third period. Nicole Zynda and Alexis Glenn were both credited with an assist on the goal. Dana Timm made 26 saves through sixty minutes of action for Adrian.
The Bulldogs are now 13-5-1 overall. They will host Finlandia on February 7th at 7:00 p.m.
