Bulldogs Dominate Defiance, 6-1

ADRIAN, Mich. - The men's soccer team needed a confidence boost and got one on Sunday afternoon with a 6-1 win over Defiance in rainy conditions. The Bulldogs (2-3) had a dominant performance especially in the final 65 minutes of the match outscoring the Yellow Jackets 5-0. Defiance (0-5) has now scored just two goals this season.

Jared Roan scored at 12:53 with an assist from Nate Bauer for his first of the season from 19 yards out in the middle of the field. Tony Cornell tied the match on a nice free kick from 18 yards into the top left corner of the goal at 25:06.

The Bulldogs controlled play all afternoon as Defiance recorded just five shots and the one shot on goal which found the back of the net. Adrian had 27 total shots and 12 shots on goal. Luke Dillenburger scored the game-winner at 36:49 from five yards out on a header with an assist from Roan.

Drake scored his second goal of the season after intermission at 50:13 to give Adrian a cushion at 3-1. Brian Bush scored less than four minutes later on a nice chip shot over the goalkeeper into the right corner of the net for his first of the year. Drake raced up the field and slipped one past the goalkeeper for his second of the day and third of the year at 54:01 to give Adrian a 5-1 lead.

Brian Bain scored his first goal of the season at 80:23 on a very crisp pass from Ben Enser going left to right. AC's Alex Pavlika played into the 66th minute and picked up the win in net (2-3).
