LAKE FOREST, Ill. -
Despite having a 7-5 advantage in power plays, the Adrian College women's hockey team dropped a 4-0 decision to the Lake Forest College Foresters on Sunday afternoon.
After a scoreless first period, the Foresters struck twice in the second period to take a 2-0 lead. Maggie Bresser scored the eventual game-winner 9:36 into the second period. Five minutes later, Courtney DeHoey put the Foresters up by two.
The game remained 2-0 and within reach for the Bulldogs to mount a comeback. The Foresters, however, had a different idea. The hosts scored two more goals in the final two minutes of the game to put the contest away.
Ashley Kavanagh, who made 25 saves over the course of the game, suffered the loss between the pipes for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs will return to the Arrington Ice Arena next Sunday, February 3 for a match-up with the ACHA squad from Robert Morris College (Ill.) at 4:00 p.m.
