No. 21 Baseball Topples Heidelberg 9-3 in Midweek Non-conference Matchup

TIFFIN, Ohio – The Adrian College baseball team traveled to Heidelberg University on Thursday afternoon for a non-conference contest with the Student Princes. The No. 21 Bulldogs came out ahead by a score of 9-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Bulldogs went off for six runs in the top of the second inning. Jake Burns and Rolando Jimenez singled in runs before a 2-RBI single from Jack Boike. Cam Oliver and Gabe Jones added to the scoring with RBI singles.
  • In the sixth inning, Jones hit another RBI single for Adrian followed by an RBI single from Brendan Willadsen to lead 8-0.
  • Jimenez drove in another run for the Bulldogs in the seventh inning to pull ahead 9-0.
  • Heidelberg finally got on the board in the eighth inning on a double down the left field line and a single to center field before adding one more in the eighth to end the game 9-3.
TOP DAWGS
  • The Bulldogs finished the game with 16 hits as a team including three from Boike and three from Willadsen.
  • Parker Faris got the win in relief after tossing 2.1 scoreless innings allowing no runs on one hit. Corbin Kozlowski pitched a pair of scoreless innings where he didn't allow a base runner.
  • As a team, Adrian stole eight bases tying for second all time as a team in a single game. Burns finished the game with three stolen bases which also ranks second all-time in program history in a single game.
UP NEXT
The Bulldogs return to action this weekend as they travel to Wabash College for a three-game series in Lafayette, Ind. Saturday's doubleheader will begin at 1:00 PM followed by a single game on Sunday at 1PM.
