ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's volleyball team fell in four sets to Wabash College on Saturday afternoon at the Merillat Center. The Little Giants claimed the match 3-1 (25-12, 20-25, 25-19, 25-18).
Wabash opened the match with an efficient first set, hitting .438 with 17 kills to take a 1-0 lead. Adrian regrouped in the second, turning in its strongest offensive frame of the afternoon. The Bulldogs recorded 10 kills with just three errors for a .280 hitting percentage, evening the match at one set apiece with a 25-20 victory.
The Little Giants responded in the third, capitalizing on key runs to secure a 25-19 decision before closing out the match with a 25-18 win in the fourth. Wabash finished the contest hitting .220 as a team with 48 kills, while Adrian totaled 32 kills.
Sam Landers paced the Bulldogs with 15 kills and added three blocks. Marc Solans chipped in seven kills, while Carson Bell contributed three kills and two blocks. Andrew Graczyk dished out 25 assists and added seven digs, while Rolen Maclin led the defensive effort with 15 digs. Carles Baza added three service aces and seven digs in the loss. As a team, Adrian tallied five aces, five blocks, and 51 digs.
The Bulldog men's volleyball team is now 4-8 overall and 1-2 in MCVL play, they look to bounce back Wednesday as they hit the road to Trine at 7:00 PM for another conference matchup.
