ADRIAN, Mich. – The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) announced its Three Stars of the Week on Tuesday afternoon, with the Adrian College NCAA men's hockey team earning two of the three honors. David Clarke and Ryan Piros were recognized for their standout performances in the Bulldogs' weekend sweep.
Adrian is coming off a dominant two-game road series at No. 2 Utica University, earning back-to-back wins that vaulted the Bulldogs from No. 10 to No. 3 in the national rankings. The victories also dropped Utica to No. 7 and No. 8 in the polls.
Clarke led the Bulldogs offensively with three points over the weekend, scoring two goals and adding an assist. One of his goals served as a game-winner. Between the pipes, Piros shined in his return to Utica, recording a pair of wins against his former team. He totaled 56 saves over the series and posted a .933 save percentage.
The Bulldogs will look to carry their momentum into conference play as they travel to Marian University for a two-game series on November 7-8. Friday's puck drop is scheduled for 8:00 PM ET.
