UTICA, N.Y. -- The Adrian College NCAA men's hockey team kicked off the 2025-26 season on Friday night. The Bulldogs traveled to No. 2 Utica University and came away with a 3-1 win to open the two-game series.
Utica took a 1-0 lead early in the first period. Later in the period,
Frank Tafelski put the Bulldogs on the board with a power play goal to tie it 1-1. After a silent second period,
David Clarke gave the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead in the third period. Adrian saw them self on a 2-on-1 late in the third where
Patrick Saini buried a goal to pull ahead 3-1 and win the game.

Theo Thrun recorded assists on the night.
Ryan Piros made his first start in his Bulldog career and recorded 23 saves.
The Bulldogs will wrap up the series with Utica tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 PM.
