ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College Men's volleyball team lost to Baldwin Wallace three sets to two Tuesday evening. Chase Heuer led the men's volleyball team by recording a game high 22 kills Tuesday.
How It Happened
The men's volleyball team started off hot, winning their first two sets against Baldwin Wallace University Tuesday. After Baldwin Wallace had trimmed the Bulldog's lead to one at 17-16, the men's volleyball team recorded an eight to three run to close out the first set. During the run, Heuer recorded four kills to lead the Bulldogs with a 1-0 lead heading into the second frame.
In the second set, the men's volleyball team rode their momentum and built a 5-0 lead over their foes. Despite encountering a Baldwin Wallace run in the later stages of the set, the Bulldogs were able to create a two sets to none lead after a kill from David Barona and an attack error from Baldwin Wallace.
Despite creating a 2-0 lead, Baldwin Wallace would win the third, fourth, and fifth sets Tuesday. In the third set, the Bulldogs were able to take a 25-24 lead over the Yellow Jackets after capitalizing on their service errors and a kill and service ace from Zach Molnar. However, Baldwin Wallace would conclude the set by scoring three straight points.
In the fourth set, the Bulldogs were able to create a 7-11 lead after a Carson Bell service ace. The Yellow Jackets would eventually take the lead at 14-13 after responding by scoring three straight points. Later, a kill by Heuer would put the Bulldogs ahead 15-14 midway through the set. Although the Bulldogs had taken back the lead, they were unable to take the set, as Baldwin Wallace recorded a 11-8 advantage over the men's volleyball team to take the fourth.
Baldwin Wallace would eventually close out the game by taking the fifth set 15-13. After a kill by Molnar and back to back attacking errors by the Yellow Jackets, the Bulldogs had pulled within one at 13-12. However, the Yellow Jackets would outscore the Bulldogs two to one to take the victory over the men's volleyball team Tuesday evening.

Heuer led the Bulldogs after recording a game high 22 kills and a team high three aces Tuesday, while Samuel Williams led all players with a game high 14 digs.
