Box Score Adrian, Mich. – The Bulldog women's volleyball team overcame a pesky Olivet squad, winning in the fifth set (22-25, 25-18, 25-20, 17-25, 15-9). Freshman Olivia Welch and senior Jordan Brisson both had solid overall matches to lead Adrian to the victory. Welch tallied 16 kills, one service ace, 14 digs and a block for the match. Brisson recorded 15 kills and 14 digs in the victory. Senior Nicole Motz and junior Marisa Dion set the offensive pace with both contributing 24 assists. Juniors Sydney Martines and Cassadine Reed helped out the team offensively, scoring eight and six kills respectively.
Olivet struck early winning the first set 25-22, but the Bulldogs would respond winning the next two sets. Adrian couldn't put the match away in four dropping that set to Olivet 17-25. The Bulldog attack proved to be too much for the Comets in the deciding set as Adrian would go on to win the set 15-9. The win puts the Bulldogs firmly in third place in the MIAA with a 3-2 conference record.
Adrian will look to hold onto the third spot in the conference on Saturday September 26 when they host Albion for another conference clash. The match is set to begin at 12:00 p.m.
