'Dogs Win Four-Set Match at Olivet

OLIVET, Mich. - The volleyball team took another step forward towards climbing back into the MIAA race with a 3-1 win at Olivet on Wednesday. The Bulldogs ended a seven-match losing skid last week with a five-set win at #16 Calvin and won their second straight against a winless Comet squad in the conference (4-14, 0-8). Adrian improved to 8-9 overall and 4-5 in the MIAA. The Bulldogs are currently sixth in the league standings after play tonight.

Seniors Holly Pellegrin and Jenny Carlson made a statement by combining for 29 out of the team's 43 kills. Pellegrin had 14 kills in 32 attacks and hit .312 for the match. Carlson led all players with 15 kills and hit .361 in 36 attacks. Lindsey Tarrant was one of three Olivet players in double figures with 14 kills and a .429 attack percentage.

Junior Natalie Niblock recorded 34 assists and 10 digs for a double-double on the evening. Freshman Laura Heinz recorded five kills in 12 attacks for a .333 attack percentage. Senior Samantha Mercy tallied 29 digs and one service ace for the Bulldogs. Adrian hit .237 as a team and recorded eight team blocks.
