Adrian College Athletic Director, Craig Rainey, announced the hiring of Eric Davis as the new strength and conditioning coach in August 2022. Davis comes to Adrian College with NCAA Division I experience when he worked for the University of Detroit Mercy.
Davis is a member of the Adrian area as he attended Manchester High School. From there, he went on to play football at Heidelberg University for two seasons. He finished his bachelor of science degree in sport performance from Eastern Michigan University in 2019 before earning his master's degree in health services administration from Detroit Mercy.
While at Detroit Mercy, Davis began as a graduate assistant of strength and conditioning. After graduation he was hired as an assistant strength and conditioning coach where he created programs for the women's lacrosse, men's and women's track and field, and cross country teams. In January of 2022, he was promoted the assistant director of strength and conditioning where he added women's basketball, women's soccer, and fencing to his duties.
After just five months as the assistant director, Davis was promoted once again to the director of strength and conditioning. As director he oversaw a staff of three and all 17 athletic programs at Detroit Mercy. He switched his attention to the men's basketball, men's lacrosse, women's soccer and softball teams.
"We are extremely excited to have Eric Davis take on the role as our strength and conditioning coach," said Rainey. "Eric brings with him the experience at the DI level. We try to give our athletes every tool to be successful on the field and in life, and Eric will help us reach our goals."
At Adrian College, Davis will create and oversee programs for all the athletic programs.
