GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's volleyball squad showed resilience throughout the match but ultimately fell in straight sets (28-26, 25-13, 25-22) to St. Norbert on Saturday afternoon at the Calvin Quad.
The opening set was tightly contested, featuring six tie scores and three lead changes. Adrian pushed St. Norbert to extra points with a balanced offensive effort, but the Green Knights edged out the Bulldogs 28-26 to take an early 1-0 advantage.
St. Norbert controlled momentum in the second set, capitalizing on a strong attacking performance to pull away for a 25-13 win and extend the match lead to two sets.
Adrian regrouped in the third set and kept the score close down the stretch. Sam Landers led the Bulldogs with 10 kills on the afternoon, while Carson Bell added six kills on .417 hitting. Despite the late push, St. Norbert closed out the final set 25-22 to secure the sweep.
Andrew Graczyk anchored the offense with 23 assists, while Dominic Rees and William Morris contributed at the net defensively, combining for seven block assists. The Bulldogs finished the match with 36 kills.
The Bulldogs men's volleyball team is now 3-7 overall and look to bounce back Friday as they host Spalding University for a conference matchup at 7:00 PM.
