Men's Volleyball Earns First Win with Dominate Sweep over North Park

CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Adrian College men's volleyball earned a straight-sets road victory over North Park on Friday night, sweeping North Park 25-23, 25-18, 25-19 at Carlson Gymnasium.

The Bulldogs set the tone early, edging North Park in a tight opening set behind balanced offense and steady defense. Adrian posted a .333 hitting percentage in the first frame and never trailed late, closing the set at 25-23.

Momentum carried into the second set as Adrian tightened up defensively and limited North Park to a .118 attack percentage. The Bulldogs pulled away midway through the set, using efficient side-out play and strong serving pressure to secure a 25-18 win.

Adrian completed the sweep with its most dominant all-around performance in the third set. Despite a higher number of attack attempts, the Bulldogs controlled the pace and held North Park to a .000 hitting percentage, closing the match with a 25-19 victory.

Sam Landers led the Bulldogs with a match-high 19 kills while also contributing defensively with two blocks. Carles Baza added five kills, four aces, and four digs in a well-rounded performance, while William Morris chipped in five kills. Andrew Graczyk directed the offense with 24 assists and added five digs, sharing team-high defensive honors with Dominic Rees.

As a team, Adrian finished with 35 kills on a .311 hitting percentage, along with five service aces, six blocks, and 25 digs, controlling all three sets from start to finish.

The Bulldogs men's volleyball team improve to 1-3 overall on the season with the sweep and will be back in action tomorrow as they face Dominican University at 3:00 PM.
