Women’s Volleyball Falls Short in Final Two Matches of Houston Road Trip

HOUSTON, Texas - The Adrian College women's volleyball team ends their four-game road trip by falling short in both Saturday matches against Schreiner University and the University of Mary-Harden Baylor. 

Match 1: 

The Bulldogs got off to a slow start in their opening set, dropping it 25-7. Adrian bounced back in the second, keeping things tight before narrowly falling 25-20.

Kora Nicolanti powered the offense with a team-high nine kills, while Khloe Budzynski added eight. In the third set, the Bulldogs battled to the wire but lost momentum late, dropping a 25-23 decision to fall in straight sets.

Megan Reckling directed the attack with 11 assists, with Kendall Sullivan close behind at nine. Defensively, Nicolanti anchored the back row with 12 digs, while Sullivan contributed eight.

Match 2: 

In the final match of their road trip, the Adrian College Bulldogs squared off against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. The Bulldogs came out strong, battling through a thrilling opening set to earn their first set win of the 2025 season, 27-25. The second set followed a similar back-and-forth pattern before Adrian fell 25-20. From there, the Cru seized momentum, taking the third and fourth sets 25-14 and 25-15 to hand the Bulldogs a four-set loss.

Khloe Budzynski paced the offense with 11 kills, while Megan Feldmann added seven. Setter Chloe Kiser highlighted the attack with a season-high 17 assists, and on the defensive side, Kora Nicolanti anchored the back row with a season-best 22 digs.

Up Next: 

The Bulldogs will head over to Oberlin College and compete in a three game round robin against the College of Wooster on Friday, September 5th and Oberlin College and Grove City College on Saturday, September 6th.
