WINTER HAVEN, Fla.- The Adrian College softball team opened up their 2025 season in Winter Haven, Florida where the Bulldogs took on Pitt-Greensburg in the first game with a 8-0 win and fell short in the second game to Eastern University 3-2. 
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1
	- 
	Senior Hailey DeChalk set the tone for the Bulldogs in the opening inning, blasting a sharp line drive up the middle to drive in the first run of the game. DeChalk finished strong, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. 
- 
	Sophomore Alaina Craig followed suit with a single to bring in another run and put Adrian ahead 2-0 in the first. Craig's impressive performance continued as she went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs on the day.

	The Bulldogs' offense was firing on all cylinders, as junior Ava Wolfe added to the momentum with a solid line drive up the middle, scoring two and extending Adrian's lead to 4-0. Not to be outdone, senior Genna Marasco kept the rally going, lacing a single into the outfield to bring Wolfe home. After the first inning, Adrian led 5-0.

	In the top of the fifth, sophomore Taylor Gerhardt came through with a clutch single up the middle, scoring senior Meghan Lupu, who had earlier singled into the up the middle. Gerhardt finished 1-for-4 with an RBI.

	Freshman Hanna Walker also made her presence felt in her first collegiate start, driving in Gerhardt and further extending Adrian's lead to 8-0.

	In the circle, senior Macee Schang was dominant. She struck out nine batters in just four innings of work, helping secure the commanding 8-0 victory for the Bulldogs. 
Adrian would close out the game in five innings in a 8-0 run rule to start the 2025 season campaign. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 2
	- 
	Adrian took an early lead in the bottom of the first when a fielder's choice that brought home Gerhardt, putting the Bulldogs up 1-0. 
- 
	Eastern responded with a run in the second and added two more in the top of the fourth to take the lead. 
- 
	In a dramatic late-game push, Taylor Gerhardt delivered a standout performance, tripling in the bottom of the seventh. Gerhardt finished the game with a stellar 3-for-4 effort, leading the Bulldogs' charge.

	Walker added a hit as she went 1-for-4 with a RBI.  
- 
	Senior Maggie Leveille went 1-for-4 with a RBI  
Adrian fell short in the second game of the day as Eastern pulled out the 3-2 win
Adrian is back in action on Monday, March 3 where they will take on Lebanon Valley College at 11:15 PM and Johnson and Wales University at 1:30 PM.
