DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Adrian College NCAA women's hockey team kicked off its series against the University of Dubuque Spartans on Friday afternoon with a commanding 7-0 victory. The Bulldogs started slowly, scoring just once in the first period, but erupted for five goals in the second to seal the win.
Jocelin Hudanish opened the scoring just under three minutes into the game. Riley Johnson extended the lead with a power-play goal early in the second period, and Hudanish followed up with her second goal of the game. Tia Lascelle, Callie Wollschlager, and Emma Simon also found the back of the net in the second period, pushing the Bulldogs to a dominant 6-0 lead. Sydnie Crockett added one more goal in the third to complete the 7-0 final.
Simon and Wollschlager each recorded an assist in addition to their goals, while Aileena Dopheide registered two assists. Karmen Anderson tallied three assists on the night. In net, Annie Gilbert started for Adrian and made five saves in 38 minutes of play, while Kiera Stack closed out the game with four saves in 22 minutes of action.
With the win, Adrian improves to 15-2-1 on the season and 10-0-1 in NCHA play. The Bulldogs will wrap up their series against Dubuque tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 PM ET.
