CHICAGO, Ill. – The Adrian College women's lacrosse team traveled to Illinois Tech Institute of Technology on Tuesday evening. The Bulldogs would come alive offensively to win, 19-6!
In the first quarter, Adrian would score first from a goal by
Maggie Bean assisted by
Zoe Weber. Bean would score for the second time to give Adrian a 2-0 lead. The Scarlet Hawks score three straight to take a 3-2 lead with eight minutes to go. Goals from
Mariana Miller and
Sarah Gross give the Bulldogs the lead back. Illinois Tech and Adrian would both score goals to end the first quarter as Adrian would hold a 5-4 lead at the end of the first. In the second quarter, Adrian would only score two goals, both from Miller as the Scarlet Hawks would score a goal going into halftime. At the halftime break Adrian would lead, 7-5.
Adrian would come out and never look back as they score 12 straight goals. The Bulldogs would be the only team to score in the third quarter. An eight goal third quarter started off with a goal from Weber. Miller,
Lucia Commare,
Emily Crager, and Gross would all score at least one goal in the third quarter to give Adrian a 15-5 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Two more goals from Miller and two from Weber would lead Adrian into a 19-6 lead over Illinois Tech Institute of Technology.
Miller led Adrian with seven goals as Weber totaled five with two assists. Weber added four ground balls as Commare grabbed three throughout the four quarters.
Adrian will play tomorrow at 4:00 PM CST against North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.
