ADRIAN, Mich. -- It was a tough day at Nicolay Field for the Adrian College baseball team as they hosted Hope College in an MIAA doubleheader to complete the three-game series. The Bulldogs dropped both games losing the first 12-4 and the second 13-11. Adrian moves to 11-14 on the season and 3-4 in MIAA play.

GAME ONE
- Hope jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the third inning on a RBI single, a 2-RBI single, and a wild pitch.
- Adrian battled back to score three of its own in the bottom of the inning on a sacrifice fly from AJ Miranda and a pair of RBI singles from Edward Wagner and Don Goodes.
- Hope added two more in the fourth and four in the fifth to lead 10-3.
- Game one was suspended for an hour due to an umpire injury where a replacement umpire was called in to finish the game.
- After resuming play, Hope added a pair of runs in the seventh to lead 12-3.
- Ryan Davis went on to hit his tenth home run of the season, but it couldn't spark a comeback for the Bulldogs.
- Griffin Firestine recorded the loss for Adrian with four innings of work on the mound and allowing seven runs on eight hits with four strikeouts.
GAME TWO
- Adrian jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning on a RBI single from Goodes and a 2-RBI single from Jakob Charles.
- The Bulldogs struggled to find the strike zone which led to multiple free bases for Hope in which they took advantage with a 7-run third inning to take the lead.
- Tyler Whitfield singled in a run in the fourth to make it 7-4.
- Hope added six more runs in the top of the sixth to lead 13-4.
- Adrian began to battle back in the bottom half of the inning scoring seven runs to pull within two.
- Goodes and David Kedrow had RBI singles in the inning followed by a bases loaded walk to Charles, a sacrifice fly from Joe Casale, and a pair of doubles from Davis and Miranda.
- With the score at 13-11 in favor of Hope, the Flying Dutchmen made a pitching change and kept Adrian scoreless the rest of the game.
- Lincoln Lipinski highlighted the struggling pitching staff in relief as he finished the day with three innings pitched with one hit allowed and three strikeouts.

The Bulldogs will host Trine University on Tuesday, April 12 at Nicolay Field with first pitch at 4:00 PM.
