DE PERE, Wis. – The Adrian College women's hockey team began the final series of the regular season on the road on Friday night when they took on St. Norbert College. A second period goal for the Bulldogs was the decider to come away with a 1-0 victory over the Green Knights.
The first period went scoreless for both teams. In the second period,

Gia Avalone to put the Bulldogs up 1-0. Adrian continued to hold St. Norbert scoreless taking the lead into the third. After another 20 minutes of play, the Bulldogs were able to hold on to the lead and win 1-0.
Adrian gave St. Norbert three opportunities on the power play, but the Adrian defense held strong to keep the Green Knights scoreless.
Sophie Goldberg earned another win in goal as she finished the night with 14 saves. Friday night's win marked Goldberg's eight shutout of the season and 15
th win of the year.
The Bulldogs trail St. Norbert by one point in the NCHA conference standings with the two teams sitting at the top. Win a regulation win or an overtime win, the Bulldogs will win the NCHA Regular Season and bring home another Kronschnabel Cup. If the two team's tie tomorrow, Adrian will share the title with St. Norbert but will have home ice advantage of the Slaats Cup Playoffs due to winning the tie breaker.
Adrian and St. Norbert will drop the puck tomorrow afternoon with the regular season finale scheduled for 4:00 PM EST.
