BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — A top-10 match up took place in Alabama as the No. 5 Adrian College baseball team took on Birmingham Southern. The Bulldogs picked up its first loss of the season in a 6-2 battle.
Birmingham Southern put up a pair a pair of runs in the second inning while adding one in the fourth to lead 3-0.
Thomas Miller got Adrian on the board in the fifth with an RBI single to drive in Andrew Atherton. AJ Miranda drew a bases loaded walk to make it 3-2.
Birmingham Southern drew one in the seventh and a pair in the eighth to come away with the 6-2 win.
Daniel Gutierrez made his first start of the season picking up the loss for Adrian.
The Bulldogs return to competition in Georgia against Piedmont on Wednesday at 4:00 PM
