Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. – The second ranked Adrian College women's hockey team defeated No. 4 Lake Forest 2-1 to take the NCHA regular season championship. The Bulldogs (22-1-2, 16-1-1) have earned the number one seed in the NCAH tournament and home ice throughout after a weekend sweep of the Foresters (20-3-2, 15-2-1).

FIRST PERIOD: TRADING GOALS
- Audrey Noles scored on a power play just three minutes and 27 seconds into the first period to give the Bulldogs a quick 1-0 lead
- The Foresters would respond when Holly Lesperance got the puck in Adrian's end and passed it to teammate Amanda Brunges who beat Adrian goaltender, Jade Walsh to score a short-handed goal and knot up the score, 1-1
SECOND PERIOD: BULLDOGS TAKE LEAD
- Logan Taylor would score a short-handed goal, the game-winner, for Adrian with just over five minutes remaining in the second period to put the Bulldogs up 2-1
THIRD PERIOD: ADRIAN HOLDS ON
- Adrian would remain aggressive in the third period and held on to win after a late push from Lake Forest who opted to pull the goalie have an extra skater the last minute of the game
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
- Lake Forest was held to only 19 shots on goal, the lowest number for the team this season
- Adrian dominated in faceoffs, 47-17
THE OPPOSITION
- Brunges (+1) was the only Lake Forest player to have a positive plus/minus
- Lesperance had a hand in both goals scored by the Foresters against Adrian this weekend (one goal last night and an assist today)
UP NEXT
- The Bulldogs will host fourth seeded St. Scholastica (9-14-2, 8-8-2) in the NCHA Tournament semifinals next Saturday (Feb. 27) and Sunday (Feb. 28)
- Adrian went 2-0-1 in the season series, winning 3-0 on the road November 20, the Bulldogs tied the Saints 2-2 at home earlier this month and won 3-2 in OT the next day on February 6.
