Box Score ASHWAUBENON, Wis.--The nationally No. 5-ranked Adrian College women's hockey team opened its 10th season of competition on Friday in style, earning a 3-1 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association win at St. Norbert College in a rematch of the 2016 Slaats Cup championship which the Bulldogs hoisted the trophy.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Period: Adrian 2, St. Norbert 1
• Adrian jumped out quickly to a 2-0 lead just 6 minutes after the opening face-off. Brooke Lupi and Kristin Lewicki scored just 2:14 apart and the Bulldogs never looked back.
• Reaghan Chadwick cut the lead in half at the 13:34 mark.
• The Bulldogs outshot the hosts 17-5.
Second Period: Adrian 3, St. Norbert 1
• Sarah Shureb provided Adrian with another early goal into a period at 3:28 in for the only marker in the stanza, restoring the visitors' two-goal cushion.
Third Period: No scoring
• Adrian peppered the SNC goal with 22 shots while allowing just one.
TOP DOGS
• Lewicki added an assist on Shureb's insurance goal for a two-point night.
• In their Adrian debuts, Maggie Mitter and Olivia Fox registered assists on Lupi's goal.
• Goalie Brooke Gibson stopped 11 of 12 shots she faced.
• Adrian outshot SNC 51 to 12 for the contest.
THE OPPOSITION
• Besides Chadwick, Jillian Kosteck and Kylie Gazzolo also found the scoresheet with assists on the Green Knights' lone goal.
• Goalie Leigh Grall made 48 saves.
