Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. – The women's lacrosse team (9-2) opened the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association season with a 16-2 win over Calvin College (2-8) on Saturday afternoon at Performance Stadium.
The Bulldogs came out firing on all cylinders in taking a 13-1 lead into the intermission before coasting in the second half for a 16-2 final.
Hannah Early, Olivia Duncan, and Maddie Dugan accounted for 75 percent of Adrian's scoring. Early had five goals, Duncan had four, and Dugan scored three for the Bulldogs.
Heather Newblom scored twice, while TaShina Salas and Nicole McDowell added single tallies.
Stacey Birlson registered nine assists and Maddie McDonald recorded two saves on the afternoon. Duncan finished second on the team in scoring to Birlson with a six-point outing. Newblom led the team in groundballs with four.
Adrian will host Hope College on Wednesday, April 10th at 7 p.m. in their next conference matchup.
