The scoring can come from a number of guys and that has been a key ingredient for the 3-0 men's lacrosse team this season. The Bulldogs won 21-8 on Sunday afternoon as they put the pressure on Oberlin from the first minute of the game.
Josh Maluta scored 1:14 into the game unassisted to give Adrian a 1-0 lead. Ryan Knautz made it 2-0 just 1:22 later with an assist from Maluta. Tyler Tanguay, T.J. Cook, Jeff Ivey and David Monroe also scored in the first period to give AC a 6-2 lead after 15 minutes.
Adrian scored six more goals in the second period to take a 12-5 lead into halftime. George Riegel scored the first goal of the second with an assist from Maluta at 12:26. D.J. Clevely scored two goals in the period and Monroe added two more goals before intermission.
The third period was the lowest scoring as Adrian scored three compared to two for the Yeomen. Knautz scored two goals in the third at 10:44 and 5:09 as Adrian led 15-7 after 45 minutes.
Adrian scored six goals again in the fourth and easily cruised to the 21-8 win. Brad Higgins scored at 12:40 with an assist from Sam Alden. Clevely scored two more goals in the third and finished the game with four goals and one assist. Andrew Suitor scored from his defensive position at 10:45 for his first goal of the season. Tanguay scored two goals in the fourth and ended with a hat trick.
Adrian recorded 27 shots on goal and 36 total shots. They also had 34 groundballs and caused 19 turnovers. Eric Lindstrom made three saves in the first half and got the win (2-0) in net. Pat Gaeger played in the second half and made six saves.
Adrian had 10 different goal scorers as Monroe, Knautz, Tanguay and Clevely each had a hat trick. Monroe took the lead in points with 13 through three games.
