OBERLIN, Ohio. - The Adrian College men's basketball team opened their 2025-26 campaign in impressive fashion, grinding out a hard-fought 63-57 victory over host Oberlin College in the Oberlin Tip-Off Tournament.
The first half was a defensive battle, with both teams struggling to find rhythm early on. Adrian's defense set the tone, holding Oberlin to just 18 points through the first 20 minutes. The Bulldogs began to click offensively late in the half, stretching their lead to as many as 18 heading into the locker room. Adrian shot an efficient 48% from the field and 42% from three-point range in the opening period.
Oberlin made things interesting in the second half, mounting a strong comeback that cut the deficit to just two. However, the Bulldogs' composure and defense proved to be the difference. Key stops, timely rebounds, and clutch free throws down the stretch sealed the win for Adrian.
Seth Logan paced the Bulldogs with a team-high 20 points and eight rebounds in a dominant all-around performance. Darrius Welch added 14 points and six boards, going a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. Brendon Schlink also contributed 10 points and five rebounds in the victory.
Up Next: The Bulldogs will play in the first-place game tomorrow at 3:30 PM where they will take on Franciscan University.
